Default idler pulley replacement

Jeez, I hope this wasn't covered before. I couldn't find it, anyway...

My 95 Impreza 1.8 AWD decided to sieze the bearing for the idler pulley. After checking a about a thousand places I realized that you can buy nifty aftermarket pulleys for everything but the idler pulley. GREAT! So I call my local? (40 mile drive) Subaru dealer. They can special order the part, takes a few days, a few dollars... yada yada yada. So today I pick it up. At first I'm impressed. Made out of high quality plastic, much lighter than the 8000lb. steal that came out. BUT, the new one has an iside diameter on the bearing that is twice the right size, and not threaded. Is there a spacer? The guy at parts told me that they have changed the part number. So do the newer Imprezas have a nifty spacer? Man what a pain for what should be the worlds easiest part to replace!

Hope someone can shed some light!!
