Default Another ticking noise from engine

A month or so ago I posted a thread on a ticking noise coming from my XT when the engine is cruising around 2500 rpm. This morning I noticed a new ticking noise while driving to work. It only happens when I give it gas (doenst have to be a lot) and it doesnt matter what RPM its at. I didnt drive it far to work, and it was kind of cold this morning, but not Wisconsin cold

Any thoughts? (or new ideas on the previous ticking) Is it something I should be concerned about?

Thanks

Once again, this is probably the wastegate performing it's normal function. Wastegate flutter.

hey its not that cold here...a week or 2 ago it warmed up to positive temperatures!

its hard to describe sounds with words, but if youre hearing a 'chatter' type of tick, consistent eigth notes tick, then that could be within normal boxer motor sounds. it is not unusal to hear that tick during warmup. ive heard it called different names before, 'valve chatter' or 'valve clapping'. hope that helps. dont forget to check fluid levels periodically.
