Talking JDM ECU passes IM240 OBD II scan test!

I finally bit the bullet and put my car through the IM240 emissions test here in Illinois (same as Cali except for the visual inspection).

It passed with flying colors!!!!

The reason it passes is the EPA scanner looks for rediness test status not the individual test themselves.

The JDM Ver.7 ECU has only one rediness test for the O2 sensor heaters.

Since mine are in fine operating condition they pass the rediness test and hence set the ECU's rediness test status as pass.

This means my car is technically emissions legal!!

My ECU # AH971
My engine EJ207 STI RA-C
No check engine lights and AVCS operational.

AWESOME news Dylan!

That opens up options for many people wanting to run JDM AVCS ECUs!

Great great work!

would it be safe to assume this would be the same with my motor? EJ207 w/AVCS running, JDM ECU.

Nice, I cant believe I missed this thread a month ago!

I am running a RA-C but with a AG971 ECU. I still have a CEL which I wont pass for. Once I get all the bugs worked out, I wonder if I am able to pass NJ inspection....

I passed also, and with a gutted cat at the time. Wahoo!!!! Any Subaru will pass as long as a cat is visable along with a complete exhaust, your gas tank filler is the correct size, you have Subaru ECU and you have no CEL.
