Kent,

How many cats are in the Random Technology setup? Do you have any sound clips or installed pictures?

cdvma,

I will try to get a sound clip and installed pics this week. They come with either one or two cats. The single cat system is what I have in stock. The two cat system would be $1243 shipped.

Kent, does the Random Tech system have the cat in the DOWNPIPE, "within 6 inch from stock location" requirement for Solo2?

Actually, according to the SCCA rulebook 17.11. STX, under A, ruled 6 : High flow catalytic converters are allowed, but must attach within six inches of the original unit. Multiple catalytic converters may be replaced by a single unit, provided the single unit is within six inches of the original primary unit. The resultant configuration must meet Federal emissions standards at normal vehicle operating temperature.

So, if you wish to go with one cat, the single cat is within 6 inches of the rear OE cat, which is considered the primary unit by subaru, as they call the first one a pre catalyst. The cat in the downpipe is within 6 inches of the stock location, but you only have to be within the 6 inches on one of them.

I don't know for certain about the STU rules yet, but I imagine it will be the same.

Kent, Thanks for the reply. Is that Random Tech system the "loud as hades" one? I heard a Random Tech system once that was REALLY loud (but sounded good).

I wouldn't classify it necessarily as 'louder than hades". I have heard at least a few louder exhausts. It is probably in the louder ten percent of exhausts for the WRX though. The sound is fantasic though. I tried (unsuccessfully) today to get a sound clip, but I did manage to get a couple of installed pics. The muffler looks pretty darn good on the car. Plus the pipe sticks out far enough that it is not going to blacken the bumper or require you to use a heat barrier like some of the others.

Wow, from that pic, I love how the tip comes out right at the bumper edge, and the slash tip angle follows the bumper. Looking forward to sound clips.

Yes, I was really happy with how well the system fit too. Very nice. I really wish the recording had worked out. I will have to try again with the next system we install. The tone is just so deep. If you have ever heard the BPM GT system, it sounds like that, but about an octave lower in tone.

I already have a cat back exhaust that I want to keep. What Random Tech pieces to I need from the turbo back to the front of the stock (or im my case Prodrive) cat back? I want to retain one cat for ESP legal setup.

bcblues,

All you would need are the Random downpipe and cat pipe. They will bolt right up to your exhaust.

I will sell the Random Technology Downpipe plus high flow cat pipe with one catalytic converter for $499 shipped. Regular price is $535 + shipping.

Kent,

I PMd your vendor account asking pretty much the same thing as bcblues and subiebill. If I wanted to mate the RT pipes to a Borla Hush catback, does it retain a full 3" turboback? I think a custom, but cheap, pipe can be easily made to mate the two systems since the RT is a flat flange and the Borla uses the doughnut gasket.

TXS's cat is in the midpipe (if you get the catted midpipe of course). The DP is catless.

subiehaulic or anyone else.

The best way to get ahold of me to place an order is to call the toll free number 1-888-854-4293. We take MC, Visa, Discover and AMEX. Just call and ask for Kent and I will take care of you.
