Question need info about making mods?

I was interested in getting some stuff for my car and I wanted to know what everybody thinks. here's a list of things I was interested in:

-JC sports exhaust 2.25" by N1
-JC sports torque chip
-Fuel pressure riser
-Ganzflow cold air intake
-Borla headers
-Cobb tuning cams

these mods would be done over period of time though. tell me what ya think. thanks.

I saw you mention strut bars, but you REALLY should consider a bigger sway bar in the back. I have Whitline's Adjustable 18/20/22, and it's the best mod i have done.

Also..
Sport Compact Car did some aftermarket performance parts on an MY00 RS last year. You might want to check it out (March 2000 issue). They compared a series of exhausts and intakes. It is worth your while to read it.

But since I'm such a nice guy , I looked up my old issue, and here are the results:

They found the Stromung dual tip made more horses than the JC 2.5 catback (plus i like to look and sound better.) The dual tip + jc sports intake made ~15 extra hp @ the wheels @ 4500rpm. But you should know that ther was also a loss of 28hp @ 6200rpm, which was corrected by a A'PEX AFC fuel computer, so you might want to add that to your list as well. Also Larry's intakes have been said to be better than JC's so I'd stick with that and get the stromung instead.

Good Luck,

-Mike-

The impreza they worked with was a 99...

MY00 and MY01 are different, and do not need an AFC to correct the miss-read airflow that resulted in the HP loss up high with intake.

Okay, the low down on what order to upgrade your my00-01

#1 rear sway bar- adjustable
#2 Real tires
#3 Cold air intake
#4 Short shifter with bushing
#5 endlink (front most important, then rear)
#6 new springs and struts
#7 better brake pads
Gets fuzzier after this.....
Depends on if you want turbo or not.
#1,3,4 are all pretty cheap and are buy the car and immediately install upgrades. #2 is important but tires are alot more money though a big grin factor.....

Hey Midwayman, thanx for the list of suggestions. I had planned on getting all of that except endlinks and new struts.

What about the Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley? Supposed to be good for about7 hp and smoother tranni, but not sure...what about plugs and wires?
