Thrash or speed only....no cheese metal, doom/black metal, etc.

5. D.R.I. - Thrashzone (or Suit and Tie Guy)
4. Suicidal Tendencies - You Can't Bring Me Down
3. Slayer - Raining Blood
2. Testament - Disciples of the Watch
1. Exodus - Toxic Waltz

"Everybody's doing the toxic waltz
Kick your friend in the head and have a ball
Come on and do the toxic waltz
And slam your partner against the wall
Everybody's doing the toxic waltz
Good friendly violent fun in store for all
Get up off your ass and toxic waltz
If you hit the floor
You can always crawl!"

I've always debated whether Hell Awaits or Reign in Blood is the better album. I've always leaned towards Reign in Blood. Haunting the Chapel is really f'n good too, but just too short.

you know, you have a really good point... there are no weak tracks there either... I think Hell Awaits is a bit overlooked because it was the next year in 86 when thrash really took off with Rein in Blood, Megadeth's Peace Sells, and Metallica's Master of Puppets being released.

Good list funker.

I guess for a different Slayer song I would say War Ensemble.

I could make a huge list. Here are few off the top:

Ton Of Bricks - Metal Church
My Last Words - Megadeth
Head First or Sonic Reducer - Overkill
Creeping Death - Metallica(you can pick any off the first, too easy)(post And Justice For All )
I Am The Law - Anthrax
Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
Too many great Testament ones to attempt.
All those great old SOD & MOD songs too.

I kept it old school. I could have written a much bigger list going into Pantera, Fear Factory, Sepultura, etc. I won't even think of going into the heavier stuff.

David Grohl's Probot CD is pretty cool. The King Diamond song is great! I think its grat how he pays tribute to the old school guys; DRI, Venom, Celtic Frost, Merciful Fate, etc., by getting all those guys to sing on it.

On another note. I got an email from Tommy Victor of Prong the other day. They have a new one coming out here next month, Scorpio Rising. Its been out in Europe for a bit. I am hoping to get an interview with him for a radio show my friend has.

This is great. You guys reminded me of many good old songs. Glad that Anthrax got mentioned. One of the greatest metal bands. Annihilator too. I have completely forgotten about them.

I was going to add that too but I already had two met songs.

Anything off K.E.A-AJFA is great metal.

I love all metallica, but that is the most metal.

I thought I was one of few who liked Testament but seems like there is quite a bit of fans here.

I'd have to say Slayer's "Raining Blood" and Testament's "The Legacy" is the best metal ever. I say this because when I listen to these albums, I want to go out and kill someone. Either that or sacrafice a chicken.

Megadeth's "Peace Sells" is a VERY close 3rd.

Exodus has a new album coming out in March, Tempo of the Damned. It too has been out in Europe for a while.
