Default Need your input on what to do next...stuck on a few choices.

Hey guys. I have about $900 to spend on my next mod or so, and i wanted to hear your input and opinion. I know this probably has been asked a million times, and i've searched and read, but i'm still stuck on a few choices. I would like to upgrade a few things right now and of course the rest later.

I currently have:
Gruppe-S Uppipe
HKS Downpipe
Cobb Cat-back
Blitz SBC-ID

Power wise, i'm looking for a good gain, but nothing extreme right now.
I was thinking about upgrading the Turbo to a VF34 or 22 and of course do Injectors and Fuel Pump and run it with my SBC-ID for now.
OR Upgrade my TMIC to a FMIC and run it with the stock turbo (Some would say against that about the lag and such, and others say you gain, only one way to find out)
OR Sell the SBC-ID and upgrade to a LINK or a UTEC and dyno-tune it for what i have.
OR Add Headers, Injectors and Fuel Pump (So i have all the supporting mods except for IC for a Turbo)

What are your good opinions. Thanks.

sell the boost controller, then get a reflash and header. that set up will be good for 220-230hp at the wheels, then save up for a vf-34 and injectors and pump, then you can have 270-280whp.

Oh ya...BTW, I Dyno'd my car with the set-up that i have right now, and i dyno'd 221 HP/ 195 TQ.

I kinda don't want to get a Reflash, i prefer something programmable. Something that i can tune myself or on a Dyno. But i know Reflashes are good, oh ya....and i can't really do without my car for more then a day or so.

Sell the boost controler. +$300
Get the Access Port. -$600
Puts you at 285HP.

That leaves you with $600, half way to a VF-34 combo($1239)
Now you have 320HP

If i were to buy the Accessport, I would still have to purchase the Cobb AECU right? *NM FOUND THAT IT INCLUDES THE REFLASH

The reason why I kinda lean towards Link or Utec or Emanage (forgot to add that choice) is because my friend at Brainstorm and the owner there are great at tuning Link and can do it right.

But the Accessport seems like a good idea.

No, once you buy the Accessport it will marry or flash it's self to your ECU and your ECU only. From there you will be able to upload and change the Cobb maps as you upgrade or see fit.

The unit will hold up to 10 separate maps, ie. valet, anti-theft, stock, and 87,89,91,93 octane maps and many others to come.

Also if Cobb upgrades the unit you'll only have to pay the difference to upgrade.

If you have time you can read through the 14 or so pages of FAQ's

Since you are running an '02, ever thought about a used TXS Unichip setup? That's what I'm running and am pleased with its performance/dollar ratio.

Run that for a while with the Stg 2 map until you decide your next move.

With any of the mods you have suggested, you'll need a dyno tune to max the benefits...well other than a Stg 3 which is basically an added TMIC.

What's a Blitz SBC-ID? If you can sell that for a good bit then I'd scoop up a used UTEC then. You can mix+match bits and pieces then. Like add the larger injectors early if you wish...

A Blitz SBC-ID is a Electronic Boost Controller. Its a good unit and has done me well so far.

I did think about the Unichip, but i kinda want something where its just about fully programmable like Link/Utec and also able to have different maps for different settings. Those cost more then the Unichip but i'll probably be using that for ALONG time to come.

Default Em

Get EM and then you can tune for all your parts that you add from there on out. Mods are much better when you tune for them.
