Factory alarm not working. Help?

Sorry to bug peeps.

I've done a search, read a few threads i could find and tried the solutions offered to no avail. I now need to post a help request. I am having a problem with my factory alarm.

Came home from church, parked car, arm alarm. grabed some grub. an hour later as i went to the gym, I noticed my alarm security light blinking faster than normal. Normally it blinks steadily when armed. now it blinks quicker. on-on-off--------on-on-off-------... etc. I also noticed that when i armed it again, my parking lights don't blink. the securiy light doesn't stop blinking like this when alarm is disarmed. hmm.. I was curious.. could it be my fuse? the fact that i installed a turbo timer?(that was done 3 years ago). I decided to test the alarm. cuz as far as i knew.. I never had knowledge of any valet mode(per search i found this option was available).. I rolled down my window, closed the door, armed the alarm, reached in unlcoked it, and opend the door. no blaring horn...

so alarm not working.. and as i said, my search lead to solution to turn off valet mode that didn't work(open driver door, stick key in ignition and turn to "ON" and press the disarm button to turn off valet mode) I also tried this with the arm button, and both bottuns in both orders.. no luck.. now my car is a sitting duck and that red blinking security light is getting my noodles in a knot.

any help would be good. I will continue to search for any clarifications.

Still sounds like it's in valet mode, are you sure you followed the procedure exactly?

Ok.. so i figured it out. went to the trusty owners manual..

The threads here instructed me to open drivers door, insert key and turn to on position then hold the disarm for 2 sec.

My manual says just open driver door and hold down disarm for 2 sec.(key not in ignition)

Thanks for the help. It was just weird that it entered valet mode by itself? I don't remember holding down the disarm button a full 2 sec. I never do that while my door is open anyways.
