Post OT: auto insurance in CA

As some of you know im gonna be moving to N. california in a couple weeks. i am in the process of getting insurance for my car up there now. tried progressive and geico so far, $1500 and $900 p/6months respectively. right now im under a company called DTRIC-Daring To Reduce Insurance Costs. i pay $463 p/6 months. anyone got any recommendations for a good, but insurance company?

Just moved from Cali. Progressive usually has a 1yr policy available for about $1200 give or take. What really matters is if you had accidents and if you are over 25. If the underwriter lets you see his computer, you will see that they have dozens of contracts to chose from.
