I am in a dilema ...I cant decide whether to go all WRX turbo and piping etc... or a fully custom turbo setup on my 98 impreza ej22t.
If I go WRX I will have to buy the headers and WRX crossmember. also WRX turbo back exhaust (stock 2.5rs flanges dont line up) as well as up and down pipes. but if I go custom my stock headers are quite restrictive... anyway...I need a turbo ! can anyone recomend a fast spooling turbo that will bolt onto WRX piping?and is capable of boosting 25PSI on the ej22t?

The smallest I would go on the 2.2 would be a vf22... the wrx will work but its a weebity of a turbo. I dont think you will get 25psi out of the 22 on a 2.2.... A gt30 would, check out the PEs, and the mitsus 18,20Gs.

fp has been in business for quite a long time for a performance shop, and backing all their products w/ a one year warranty is also a nice plus if their turbos were crap im sure they would have been beat up by the dsm crowd years ago |

hhmm do they sell a turbo aplicable for the wrx?
I've been under the impression that garret turbo's dont bolt onto wrx piping. and IHI doesnt seem to make a turbo big enough for 25 lbs of boost on a 2.2L I would assume they require custom fab work to get the turbo flanges to line up...it says they're for DSM I need iether... 2 1/8''ID up pipe & 3'' down pipe for the 2.5rs(really ej22t) OR A bigger WRX aplicable turbo decissions decissions... ![]() |
