Thumbs up Well, my trunk's keyhole no longer works!

I unfastened the bar from the key hole to the trunk latch. The only way to open the trunk now is to go inside the car and pop the trunk. So if any would-be-theif wants to raid my trunk with a hammer and screw driver, it won't work!

But if he brought a crow bar...that's a nother story!

I had a real dumb theif try breaking into one of my old Volvo's once. Got in and tried prying the rear seat away from the rear deck (it doesn't come down at all). Broke his screwdriver back there and left it. Then went outside and pryed at the SIDES of the trunk lid, just dented the f**k out of the fenders and trunk lid. Finally they pried in around the lock and popped it out and was able to yank the trunk open from there. *shrug*

BTW, they tried to get my stereo but they just ended up breaking another screwdriver. There is part of the framework of the dash (heavy sheet metal framework) next to either side of the radio that I bolted it into.

Or you could get your trunk monkey to guard it! Mine is to lazy and sleeps when I'm not driving.

Talking

Of course now instead of having a broken trunk lock the thief will now also break your window

Snoopy,

Be sure you don't accidently flip the valet switch on the trunk latch. Maybe you can somehow remove that little switch because it seems really easy to accidentally flip it.

yeah, they'll get frustrated with the lock, and then whack your windows to pull the cord. I'd rather have just the lock broken personally.

If they really wanted to, they will and and they also know their chances of getting caught(breaking a window, setting off the alarm, someone seeing them break the window) become greater compared to standing behind the car and popping the trunk.

Question

I wonder if it's legal to electrify your car, trunk, or door handles. Hook up some massive battery in the trunkto the frame and put a warning sticker like, "this car is protected by a taser gun wielding trunk monkey!"

They do sell something similar to The Club but it's taser charged. It won't turn off unless you have an alarm.

Cool

I agree. Of course I was watching one Sunny 90+ August day when a lady gets out of her car, stumbles, and places her hand on my BLACK Storm for support. That didn't last too long as she immediately yanked it off (ssssssssssss) and shook it while losing her balance and almost falling over. I wish I had that on tape!!

So maybe instead of electrifying the car Plug it in and make it sedona-red hot! (ooh a subie pun)
