Default Gauging Interest: 400whp 2003 WRX

Alright, I just made 399.3whp, 344.6 ft/lbs of torque this past saturday. The car trashed 2nd gear from a roll. I think it was the accumulated torque I had put down on my old setup, which put down 346hp, 360ft/lbs of torque for about 7 months strong. I put a new stock tranny back in the car, and I've met my goal so I think I'm going to move on to the dark side and get a domestic.

The car is a Platinum Metallic Silver 2003 WRX with 26786 miles on it. I have extended 5 year/100,000 mile warranty on it. I drive to work 40 miles a day and I used to date a girl that was exactly 41 miles from my house to hers, so basically I drove 100 miles a day for 4 months on the highway. It is my daily driver and never has failed to meet it's requirements as one. There is 12600 miles on a new shortblock which was warrantied by Subaru at 13800 miles. The car had no mods on it at the time (which is why it was warrantied). I have receipts all of the work done on this car. ALL OF THE SERVICES AND MAINTENANCE WERE DONE AT A SUBARU DEALERSHIP! INCLUDING THE MODIFICATIONS. Mobil1 Synthetic after the first 1000 miles and changed every 2500-3000 miles. ZERO miles on the new tranny.

I'm anal retentive when it comes to my car. Never been in a wreck, clean record, washed once a week, regardless of weather. If it rained, I'd wash it in the garage and wait until the rain stopped before I drove it. It is in IMMACULATE condition. You can ask the Subie guys around the Texas forum and they can vouch for it. It is pretty much the fastest WRX in Houston.

Here are the mods and the retail prices.

*NOTE* If I can't sell the car as is, I'm going to part it out for lower prices. I will sell the car bone stock for $19,900:

Forced Performance Green (7cm housing, 6H wheel) w/ SS oil feed line - $1500 (Less than 100 miles!)
TurboXS FMIC - $1450
TurboXS UTEC w/ Map Selector - $ 1050
ECUtek Reflash - $600
Both Fully tuned by Clark Turner (AZScoobie) - $600
Perrin Fuel Rails - $450
Perrin Turbo Inlet Hose - $250
Perrin BigMAF - $225
740cc Injectors - $50
Walbro Fuel Pump - $100
HKS Downpipe with Electric cutout (McCord Power Plate) - $500 w/ labor
GT-Spec GenII headers w/ Uppipe (Thermal wrapped)- $550
HKS BOV - $225
STi front/rear Strut tower bars - $100
Apex'i AVC-R - $500
Innovate LM-1 Wideband 02 Sensor - $350
Tein Springs - $200
Painted Sideskirts - $200

The total is $8900 in mods. I'm asking $24,500 with all the mods. For the price of a brand new WRX, you have a 400whp beast. This thing is my daily driver, I drive it to work, to the club, to the movies, everywhere. It should trap around 120mph in the quarter, and be well into the 11's, and still get 340 miles to the tank.

Or I will part everything out and sell the car for $19,900, bone stock.

If I get enough interest to part it out, I will do so accordingly. Thanks for reading!

I don't know.. I've always been fascinated by the Cobra. And I think it looks sexy and so do the ladies

I'm just gauging interest so it's not final yet. If I keep the car I'm just going to keep dumping money into it... not that it won't be with the new car but it might be a little different. My goal was 11's in this car and a daily driver and I think if I go any further I'm going to breach that wall of daily driveability.

Considering the your use of the car, I say Cobra is they way to go.

As for the 340 miles per tank, may I ask what size tank you installed on that thing?

Hey, at least I got a ride in it within that 100 miles.

I'll take your LM-1 WBO2 if you part it out. Good luck to sell your car anyway!

I'll take the LM1 id WRX2 backs out, plus I am interested in the green if we can get the wastegate boost down to 17-18 or so...

Sorry to hear you're moving on. You realize you are just beginning the quest for 9 second quartermiles.... the money will simply flow into the Cobra...

talk to you later...

how much Psi did you push through this bad boy? I'm looking for 400 whp in the summer. I'm guessing that ECU tuning was a big help along with that nice big turbo.

It is not about PSI, it is about lb/min of air. The green flows an incredible amount of mass, especially once you cross over into the 22+ psi range. IIRC he was running 23 psi when he made that, although it may have only been 21-22.

C16. I was at 23psi at the power peak, around 22 the rest of the power band. I'm going to leave it up here for a couple of more days, then try Ebay, and if that doesn't work then looks like I'll be parting it out.

Wanna have some fun, Jarrad?

You would probally want to buy the ECUTEK also since that is what is taming those injectors..
