Default XS Engineering Turbo 450 HP

Here is the description of the turbo right off of the XS-Engineering website:

"Bolt-on, direct replacement turbocharger.

True, dual Ball-bearing center cartridge. Not a single "ceramic" ball-bearing.

For BIG horsepower. Great for Drag, high speed courses, or a extremely fast street car.

Genuine Garrett GT turbocharger direct from Garrett Japan.

Taken from our new line of Garrett GT turbochargers, our 450hp upgrade is essentially a variety of the Garrett GT3037, but designed specifically for the WRX. While sharing the same center cartridge, the 450hp upgrade utilizes a .64 A/R turbine housing. Not for the light-hearted, this turbo upgrade will set you back hard in your seat so that you can truly feel the power. We have made as much as 410whp on a modified engine with our 450HP turbocharger upgrade. Great for an extremely fast street car, high speed road race courses, and drag racing where big turbos and big power are the name of the game. Excellent with 2.0L, 2.2L, and 2.5L engines. This turbo also has a partition on the turbine side so the wastegate gases can be set up to dump externally."

I bought it for around $2k. It was on the car for approx. 6 months and 6k miles. Great condition. The only difference between this unit and a new one if the place where I tapped in for the DS boost controller. You can definitely get 350 WHP on pump gas with this. I have pics to email, just let me know.

Asking $1500.

Chris

Got any numbers or times. What mods were you running it with? What was spool like the .64 AR, manageable?
Thanks.

Went to the track only once with it-it was over 100F in August, humidity around 70%. Boosted only 18psi-ran a 13.5 on 94. Kinda sux since the max efficiency range for this turbo is around 26-27 psi...

I had a ton of mods-800cc's, rails, flywheel, DSBC, Greddy gauges, turboback (no cats), uppipe, intake, APS DR650 FMIC, UTEC....the works. No cosmetics.

Just out of curiousity, why are you selling it? Are you going bigger?

Nah-took it all off. All I got left is the turbo and an oil pressure gauge.

Anyway, before I would go bigger, I would upgrade the tranny and internals-I wasn't even close to the potential the car had with this turbo...

I am getting a bike in late spring....I think...

wow only a 13.5???

that is pretty weak for the amount of mods and the big of a turbo.

Did you only get one run in??

what was the elevation?

thanks

Thanks for the added info, I am sure it will help!

Quoted from Soon2Bgreat

"They are using the p20 exh. housing from an ihi vf22. I'm also under the impression it's the same compressor as an avo 450 and turbine wheel. So it's got the gt-10 wheel. Making it a 44lb turbo."

Oh, and bump...

Thanks again,

Chris
