Default closed loop/open loop questions

At what point does the ecu switch from closed to open loop?

What year? What Car? WRX or STi?

2002-2003 WRX - 63% TPS or 5000 rpm (Their are also another set of parameters such as coolant temp, load, but for the most part the above is correct)

2004 WRX - Same, but with delay.

STi - Complex set of parameters. Someone else can fill in the gaps because I don't know the real details

Why do you need to know?

it is an 02 wrx. i want to know because i have read a few posts about people having trouble tuning when the car is in closed loop. I have an safc and have had no trouble with the ecu learning around the settings that i have, but i just wanted to know for future reference. thanx.
