Question Cobb AccessPORT

Now now kids...I hate to excite you too much, but I figured I'd start this thread for the bazillion reviews that will be here in the next few coming days. Who will be the first lucky one to get their precious AP?

The price is $555 if you order before April 1. After that date, the price goes up to $595.

We're still taking pre-orders for the Access Port

I got a call from Cobb yesterday saying mine was "ready for pickup". Maybe I'll head over there after work today...

I installed my AccessPort 2 weeks ago and I love it!

I'm currently a stage one with the intake silencer removed and the results are awesome.

Car pulls so much harder from 3100 rpm to redline and the turbo spools up so much quicker.

Low end torque and throttle response is greatly improved as well!

I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Good news Wulf. Does it feel like 260 chp?

What kind of fuel economy do you get if you run it in economy mode?

I'm going to be ordering mine right before the end of the month.

I think it's pretty close maybe a little less. I wouldn't dare to say without using the proper equipment.

It's definitely and improvement over stock.

I just went on a long cruise with the NWIC and I think I actually got better gas mileage HWY as compare to stock. We were also really pushing our cars and I still had good gas mileage.

I haven't tried the economy mode yet, but I imagine its even more of an improvement.

I especially think the anti-theft modes are tricker than snot.

and snot is pretty trick...

I can't wait to go to stage 2.

Special Note: It takes a couple of days of driving for the ECU to re-learn its limits and every consequtive time I drove the car it actually got faster. By the time the ECU was done I was consistently pegging 14.5 PSI in third gear at WOT. It's Niiiice.
Cobb has got my vote for good products and Noah at Cobb is a great technician.

Have fun with your AccessPort!

Sounds great man! I'm glad to hear good reviews. Mine will be here in Mid-April. Can't wait. I'll be Stage 1 for now as the only upgrade I have is the Vishnu 321 catless uppipe.

Just got mine today. Using Stage 2 91 Octane map. Haven't been able to go WOT around town, but boost definately comes on wayyyy earlier. Pulls harder, and there's that seat of pants feeling that I didn't have without the flash. Some report that the ECU needs to learn a little to really see huge differences, but I see power I like already.

One note that's not on the site or the instructions. You have to flash your car before the AccessPort allows you to communicate with your PC. The option of "Connect to PC" just isn't there until you flash your car. Once you do though, you open up a bunch of menu option on the AccessPort.

Nice device. I'll post more of an update once I get to drive for a while.

Does it act as a boost controller too or would there be benefits from running with a mbc?

Wow, so surprising how quickly this thread died when people started receiving their AP's. I guess finding open areas to drive real fast and try to read the boost readings on the AP is more fun than sitting in front of a computer I love mine. I let most of my friends drive it after the ECU "learned" without telling them I got a new toy and they knew I had something new right away. I mentioned on another thread here that I used to find 1st and 2nd gear on my WRX somewhat scary, but fun. After 62K miles with it, the edge is off. The AP made 1st, 2nd and 3rd scary again.

Stil2stock, to answer your question...no, it does not act like a boost controller. The AP is for those who want to go a little faster in their WRX. There are no extra benefits of extra tuning, or extra parts outside of their recommended upgrade path. Its basically the same thing other tuners offer such as Vishnu and TXS. I bought the AP to help with speed now and upgrade to ther Accessport Tuner which allows for full personal tuning of the car based on personal upgrades.
