I need info on this recall WWF89

So I ran a free carfax just a minute ago on my car. I have one outstanding RECALL on the car... the recall was issued January 31, 2004... I have received no notice about this recall in the mail.

Anybody know what it is about?

There are several things wrong here.

First, there's not been a recall for 2001 Imprezas. Subaru has, however, initiated a Service Campaign.

Second, the service campaign has been designated WWF-89, not WWF891. You can read an abstract at http://techinfo.subaru.com/html/disp...lit_nbr=wwf-89.

Actually... my.subaru.com isn't very accurate... they don't list anything for my car.

My dealer (Subaru of Dallas) checked out my VIN and there are two (2) recalls out right now... one of them affects MOST 2.5RSs...

There are two open recalls on your car. One is Recall WWF-89 Engine Control Module Reprogramming and the latest one Recall WWP-99 Engine Cooling System Conditioner.

If you guys haven't read it yet, they are recalling MOST 2.5RS SOHC (maybe DOHC) because of bad headgasket design. They are adding a conditioner to the coolant to "fix" the problem.

I don't think mine will need this conditioner because I just had the HG changed last month to the new style of HGs.... according to the mech that did the work... but we will see Friday.
