Default Is my alternator dying?

Having major power issues recently. Right now my car keeps loosing power and dying on me while I drive. I'll start the car and start driving normally and after a while the lights will slowly get dim and the needles stop moving, then it'll refuse to give me power when I press the accelerator. If I pull over to the side and let it idle for a few minutes it'll go back to normal for another few miles before it starts showing the same problems. What do you think, the alternator? I had it looked at the dealer a few weeks ago and they told me the alternator was fine but the battery was dying so I got a new one but now it's doing the same thing.

Could an unhappy trans cause something like this? I think I might of messed up my 4eat when I was fooling around in some corn fields.

Alternators can be tricky sometimes. It may have been charging when the mechanic checked it, then other times it wouldn't charge. If you have a multimeter, test it. It should push 13-15 volts. If not, go to Advance Auto and get this tester. Link at bottom.

Also, does your battery light come near the speedometer? Check all your connections and grounds.
