Angry If only Subaru had a good part/service dept.

I have sent this message to yet another conduit in SOA hoping to get some of my concerns aside. The engine is fine. The body work was roughed up on arrival from Washington...

Dear Mr Witt,

In order to clarify the sequence of events, here is an explanation of
what happened. I took delivery of the vehicle on Wednesday, April 26th.
After the car was driven home and parked, I noticed that the front grille on
the right hand side of the car was misaligned with the hood ~3/4". The
following day, when the car was driven, the right side headlight was found
to point slightly lower than the left. Upon further inspection, it was
discovered that the headlight assy. mounting bracket was cracked at the
mounts. It was also observed that the right front end of the bumper was
skewed towards the ground. The headlight was slightly realigned such that
the headlight was aiming properly enough to drive. The following Monday
(May 1st) , we called Livermore Subaru to address the problem to _________ and to order a replacement headlight assembly from the parts
department. The parts department then proceeded to inform me that the part
in question should be there that same Friday. Since then, we have called
the parts dept. to check the status of our part. Each time, they told us
that when the parts arrive, they would call us. It has been a month since
we originally requested that the headlight on my car be replaced and
readjusted. Last Wednesday (May 24th) we went to Carlsen Subaru in Redwood
City to purchase a quart of transmission oil when we discovered that the
transmission oil level was low. At the same time, we asked the parts
manager how long it would take to obtain a headlight assy. When he went
into the computer to check, he said that they had one in stock and over 100
in stock nationally and that it shouldn't take long to get one. The
question that results is this: Why would it take over a month to obtain a replacement
part? If we had let Livermore Subaru repair our car, how long would it have
stayed in their repair shop? Is it possible for us to take the car to
Carlsen Subaru to get warranty work done? I 'd like to know since I am
losing faith in Livermore Subaru's parts/service dept.

We, in addition, want to know if scuff marks and touch-up paint on the
bumper of a new car meets Subaru's new car standards. We have also brought
this to the attention of Subaru of America by our email sent to Miss Delores
Schwartz.
