Exclamation Is this the solution????

So I was going once again over my June SCC when something cought my eyes. It was in the "off the shelf" section. There is a small article (press release?) on a new adjustable cone filter. The manufacturer claims that their adjustable filter allows tuning so that cars with sensitive MAF sensonrs read accuratlly. Anybody knows anything about this? Could this be the solution for the lean-running MY 99?

BTW. The car in the photo of the filter is an MY 1999 RS.

Thumbs up

It is not the MAF misreading that is the problem it is vibration that fries MAF's they get jostled too much and the film deteriorates.
Edit: I read too fast you aren't talking about frying MAF's that does sound interesting but the S-AFC will take care of all the lean outs anyway could be good for a low-budget ram-pod filter though.

If you read the SCC's issue with teh intergras on the cover you will find out hta tthe fried MAFs are caused by the missing 2nd air box. It is supposed to buffer the air that get's pump back out causing a violent turbulence on the intake tube. So ppl with regular bow intake risks of frying their MAFs on rough bouncy rides.
