What year do you have?
My opinion is to get teh weaponR intake tube and get a different filter(Blitz(JC I believe uses this one)/Apex'i/K&N/Greddy). I have the weaponR and the filter is decent but get's way to dirty and clogged too fast. Rich |

1999 2.5RS is the model I have. I've heard the complaints on not being able to get stuff and I must say I have to disagree. We ordered the part on Monday 29th and also found out that the hours of work are like monday wednesday friday 2:PM until 8:PM. But even with the bad open times I still got them to send me the intake today. Not to mention I live up in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. They even mentioned to me that they have an extra part for the 99s to provent the sensor from crapping out.

Go for the JC Sports. I have had mine for about 6 months with no MAF problems. Also, a friend of mine has the WeaponR in his 98 RS. It seems to have too many sharp angles. That can't be good for airflow. Regarding getting the WeaponR with a new filter - that is a pretty good idea, as well. However, all of my dealings with JC Sports have been positive.

Anyone got pics of that JC intake? I'm curious how they support it so that it doesn't blow MAF's.

Neither,
Get yourself a K&N panel filter to fit in your stock box, and get replace the 2nd filter with the subaru gasket. Then get all that intake piping out of your fender, and duct tape off the holes to the fender...instant cold air intake, and no MAF problems! May not be pretty, but pretty doesn't matter when you are behind the wheel. Randy |

8Complex, look at STiTkacik in Georgia's Impreza L coupe- the first pic shows the thick metal ring "thing" that keeps the vibrating intake away from the MAF. That's why JC's is better. (I think)

isr just started selling their 99 intakes today if youre interested. i bought one. ive been having the same debate weapon r vs. jc, but i like the idea of isr's, leaving the stock plenum for more torque, just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure JC doesn't use a Blitz filter. If they did their price would shoot right up.
