Hi everyone...
I'm seriously considering that Borla but I have to know which one fits the best...different dimensions etc. and different nipple sizes. First, is there any difference between the Turbo and Hemi (besides 60 bucks)? What is the part number for one that has been installed (and fits!)? And where'd you get your exhaust tip? Except for the guy with the school bus piping...I know where that came from. ![]() Finally, does the butt dyno sense any gain in power? If not, there's no point in considering it, but the more I think about it, the more a quality muffler at a great price makes sense. Thanks for any help you can give!

I'm not sure of any difference, I was going on what others before me purchased. What is the part number for one that has been installed (and fits!)? Well, it depends what size piping you want. Generally, the people that have this muffler have 2 1/4" piping, therefor getting the muffler with both 2 1/4" inlet and outlet. The part number we used was 40652. And where'd you get your exhaust tip? Except for the guy with the school bus piping...I know where that came from. I haven't installed mine yet but my brother did. He just picked a tip they had at the exhaust shop. I'm sure there are lots to choose from at any exhaust shop. Finally, does the butt dyno sense any gain in power? If not, there's no point in considering it, but the more I think about it, the more a quality muffler at a great price makes sense. Well, put it this way, my brother did the intake a la SCC project Impreza, with a K&N filter, and that mod is more noticable then the Borla catback. I'm not too sure, prolly 5 hp being generous. But the burbling, popping, and deep boxer sound is definately worth it! |

Thanks for the info Stickee! I appreciate it.
I was almost certain it was the 40652 I wanted...figured at least. On the tip...I was just inquiring. Usually there's plenty at the shops, but you never know what people can find on the net. The 5hp seems about right, maybe a little high for a very inexpensive catback. But that's cool...I may look into spending more on the intake than on the muffler and the Borla stuff is always nice. I'll look into it. Anyone else's opinion is appreciated and welcome! |

Oh and also, forgot to mention, but my brother and I are using this on the 2.2L engine. And I also got help from Gambit who also used it on his 2.2. So you might wanna get some input on anyone who's used this on their 2.5. Pretty sure you'd get the same system as us, unless you really want bigger piping, but I think that would do more harm then good, unless going for forced induction.

I believe the Hemi series is chambered. Not sure if it is a glasspack or if it's just baffles (ala Flowmaster) but I am 90% sure it's not a true straight-through muffler like the Turbo series.
I have a Borla 2.25" turbo muffler and 2.25" midpipe. Works great for me, except lately sometimes it sounds like I am working on an exhaust leak at the catalyst / midpipe connection. |
