Thumbs down I GOT IT!!! Picked up my white RS sedan!!!

Fishguy came over to my place this afternoon
to drive me up to the Tri-City Subaru in Somersworth, Nh to pick up my car. Oh my goodness I was ecstatic!! And that was BEFORE I got the car!!!!!!!!!!

Man this is so incredible, I've never had a new car before, I'm just brimming with ridiculousness! After I picked it up, Fishguy drove us down to a local Irish pub for a Guinness or two... More like one for me and three for he--he exceeded his acceptable sanity level, so I drove us back... But we took a lot of pictures, and there will be more to come. He had the digital camera, and will have pics available fairly soon.

W@@H@@@@@@@!!!!!!!!!!

Well actually, I'm still a Honda kid....
I still have the Acura. Here's the deal...
see I want more money than the trade-in will give me, so what I did was write them a check for the amount they promised for trade-in. They'll keep that, without cashing it.
That allowed me to figure the financing of the car including $1,000 down, plus the trade-in. I was given two weeks to sell the car. If I do, I give them the money, which will subtract from the principle. So my payments are already adjusted minus the trade-in value plus the $1,000 I gave them earlier. Good deal.

I'd love to keep the Acura, but.... no room in my life.

I was gonna try something similar, with selling my Taurus SHO, and trade it in if it wouldn't sell. Gave them them $1,800 up front, and $2,500 to hold.

I found a 26 year old first time buyer in college willing to pay $7,000 with $1,000 down, but he turned out to have no credit history. His mom wouldn't cosign because the car was too fast for her tastes.

That fell through, and I said "screw it, I can't wait, take my SHO." I was upside down on the trade, so I let them keep the $4,300...

Congratulations!

Hey....were you the one who paid for the most expensive Impreza RS in the US?

You got it for like $25k right? Man...anyway, at least you got your car! Drive it like you stole it!

Cool

Nope! I was quoted a price of $24,050, but that was a "ghost" price that the owner came up with after telling me he'd give me $8000 for the Acura. So basically, he was charging me what the Subaru was worth, but tacking on $3500 or whatever extra, just to not really give me that price for the Acura.
A dealer trick.

I paid $21,500 or so for the Subie, signed, sealed and delivered.

Thank you, thank you...

Don't worry, I think white ones will still remain in the minority compared to silver and blue... Especially sedans, which is good for me...

Wink

You are keeping it under 4,000 rpms right?

I hit over 5,000 rpms on my way out of the parking lot. Then I calmed down and shifted at 4,000 everytime. Actually I shift around 4,000 still unless I am having fun then it is a bit higher.

Congratz.
