Anyone else notice how the rear wing seems to end behind the seats and doesn't extend any further? Looks like it'll have about a 4' across wing on 5-6' wide car.

Stickee,

Haven't seen this pic before - thanks for posting it. I like the look, but it's still just speculation until the real car shows up.

Wow! what's interesting about your pic is how consistent it is w/ the older pics posted Dec/Jan at:
http://www.new-impreza.com/hot_new_impreza_pics.htm

looks pretty much like the same car.

Okay here's some info on the article:
- they admitted these are computer generated images (other pics were the 3/4 black, the rear 3/4 sedan, rear 3/4 wagon)
- only 4 and 5 door versions
- they say 6 spd. transmission, but that has already been disproved right?
- 218 bhp
- quote: "The new car is also likely to benefit from the multi-link rear suspension developed for the Legacy with help from Porsche, replacing the simpler strut arrangement of the current car." I guess the key word here is likely.

yeah so all the pics we've seen before and this new one up top. the pics rear 3/4 pics (sedan and wagon) in the magazine look obviously computer generated up close.

There have been a number of rumors that the new Impreza will have a smaller wing. If you look at the only legit pics (the masked test mule pictures) You will see that there is a very small wing under the tape and cardboard-like stuff. This is, of course, a relatively easy thing to change but the fact that there is a small wing on the mule vs no wing at all is supportive of the 'small wing' theory

Easy enough to change if you want one, but you can't claim 'it came that way!' any more

I hope they don't turn into big, fat, heavy turd cars. As long as it doesn't get any heavier, only more powerful.

In the article posted yesterday about the Subaru WRC team and the new Impreza, they said the computer generated pics that are floating around are way off. I hope they are right, don't like the computer pics, to mutch luxury look, not enough sport.

I like the look of this one. It is kind of Altezza-like. (Toyota/Lexus, like some of you said). I happen to like the GS400's nose features too.

I agree with you guys though... I'd like a modernized pissed-off look, don't want the car any larger dimensionally, and don't want it to gain weight.

How do you spell "Lexus"?

J. Kent

...just to expand on that...If that's the way Subaru is going, I'm a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong. The car looks nice. Just too "nice." I hope the Impreza stays somewhat a rough and unrefined rally-replica as opposed to becoming a smooth, comfy, Maxima-like sedan.

Hey!!!!!! I resemble that remark!! But after I installed the eibach suspension, sway bars, sp8000 rubber and intake, she ain't so comfy no more. Plus it's my downpayment on the MY01.

BTW, I like the new pic. The fogs just look toooo plain.
