Forester Ebrake adjust

I have to pull my ebrake lever up pretty far to engage the brake. How difficult is this to adjust and tighten up some? Would that be considered a warranty covered issue that I could have fixed next time I go into the stealership, or is it so simple that I should just pull out some tools and do it myself?
