Lightbulb All Florida people! Toughts, Ideas, Opinions!

Hopefully everyone has received the e-mail regarding a Florida meet, the majority of those who responded chose Orlando as the meeting spot. This will be a true Subaru meet with no auto-x or car show, just a group of Subaru owners. I need everyone's opinions & ideas for what we want to do.

My idea was to meet on Monday July 3rd (Hopefully everyone would be off work due to the 4th of July) at Race Rock in Orlando for lunch. Maybe Nero & Bottle (from Powerhouse Racing) could come out again to talk tech & show off some new products or whatever!

None of this is set in stone, I'm just getting ideas as to what everyone wants to do. Respond here and let me know what you want to do, what day you want to do it on, etc.

Opie,
Thanks for starting up the post. I'm up for Race Rock, might want to check and see if we can get anything setup with parking spaces, they might go for that if we know how many are coming. It would be kind of cool to have the area around the front set aside for us... Would make for some great photos....

So now we should all stand on our soap box and start rattling everyones chains to make this a really great event.

Uh oh! I do not have the 3rd of July off. Another thing is also I will prob have to choose between the AutoX and the Scooby meet. But on reflection I do remember saying if I did not show up for the next event I would have to buy a Geo Metro! ARRG!
Okay Opie you tell me which one to go to and I will be there.
P.S. I will be out Palm Bay side soon and I am linking up with wrxwannabe. But still maybe I really do own a Civic DX and am good at photoshop

P.P.S. Is July 2nd out of the question?

Nick,
So that is what your using your degree for. Photo editing....

Hey Imprezive,
Old town holds lots of Car shows, with you playing there, what is the chance you could check on having the meet there? Everyone, this is just a thought don't shoot me yet, but it is right near Orlando and they have a pretty cool facility for a meet. But it is just a thought.

Hey Opie let me know about the wheels. I should have em to sell by mid June. I think I will get the Kumho 712s.
Also I guess this is as good a place as any, anyone in FL interested in RS suspension, headlights, or even a muffler? I have these parts just lying around and that is no good. This can save shipping. Let me know.

What do you mean "check into having a meet there." I know you couldn't run you cars in the "show" because it is all for older cars. but I could ask. what should I ask?

Imprezive,
I wasn't talking about getting into the Old Car show, thought we might be able to hold the meet on another day. It's just a thought, I am leaning towards Race Rock, but thought Old Town would work nice as well, we should keep our options open until a final decision is made.

Oh, thats pretty cool about your band.

(a bottle floats up with a message inside)

"Help, Help, drowning can't find keys"

HEHE

Anyway... I know I haven't made any meets... sorry... the last one I could goto at Moroso not many people could make.

All excuses aside... I am going to do my best to be there for this one... You guys pick some dates and I will let you know... weekends are good as long as any sort of meet dosen't dribble over into the week.

I do however propose that the people from orlando make up an agenda of stuff to do, which should involve a good chunck of time for BS'ing about our cars and time for general chit chat. Maybe a nice place for dinner, and whatever else you feel we need to do in a day. Personally I would love to see the looks on people's faces when a caravan of subarus drives by.

Just a few thoughts from me... keep us all posted... and if I don't reply... I HATE YOU ALL!!! No, No just kidding... send me an e-mail if I don't get back to reading this thread.

Ciao
Nick

Hey All,
I have sent out an E-mail to most but if I did not get you I appoligize. Opie has set out some great Ideas for us and I will compile everyones availible dates and work with Opie on this. I think Race Rock would be a good site for all for the initial meet, it might spill into something like a go-kart track or Lazer tag or something.

All you Orlando Folks if anyone has any contacts or could contact Race Rock and see what we could set up for a bunch of tables and some special Parking for our cars. Also anyone that might know of a cool go-kart track or Laser tag location close to Race Rock that information would be greatly appreciated.

Also everyone, what are your thoughts on Old Town, it does have good parking and is used to haveing car shows, I don't know enough about what we can arrange for a meet there, is there enough interest in this site to pursue options?

NickCat,
Hey great to hear they didn't take your computer away from you....LOL

race rock is a good place to meet...

fun spot is a go-kart amusement center that is just down the road... it has 4 or 5 different tracks including a quad tier track and a track where you can get the back end of the kart to slide out... =)

laser tag is good at wonder works... jus down the road from race rock...

there's other places... but those were on my mind... iight? peace...

Sounds like a plan is coming together!

OK, a couple of people said they wouldn't be able to make it on the 3rd, so does Sunday, July 2nd sound better?

Race Rock (a motorsports themed resturant) worked out good the last time, maybe Ward, Sanders, Nero or any of you other Orlando guys could check about reserving tables for lunch (Noon sounds like a good time to meet!).

Sanders - thanks for the heads up regarding the go-karts & laser tag, maybe you could let us know how much each is going to cost.

NickSti - I'm sure we can find a Geo dealer in Orlando if you don't show up with your RS! Imprezive will be very happy! LOL. It would be great if you could make it to both the meet & the auto-x, but if your not racing the auto-x might get boring!

wrxwannabe - if you and NickSti get together before the meet, let us know what he really drives .

GRRRR
LOL! busting my a$$ as usual huh Opie?
Now Hear This! I will be at the autox in palm bay without a doubt. The biggest problem with me going to both is
(1) Its like a total 1000miles round trips! to do both. Orlando is not exactly around the corner for me.
(2) See (1).

I will most likely go to the autox and skip the BIG meet. That is just sad, but maybe I will change my mind. We will see.

Sorry Imprezive & Opie, but no Geo Metro for me. All I have to do is show up to the next event and I can keep my scoobie! yay.

Question

I have a dumb question, do I talk that funny? No one seems to understand me must be from the UK board.

Deal sealed = get your own Impreza. How much money do you need to buy your own Impreza? Say if you raise half will dad put in the other half? Or you have to earn all the money from working?

You knwo I think you may really want to pay off more of your car before you throw the warranty out the window. Or all the $2000 worth of mods are purely cosmetic?
