Default How much do you think this is worth? 56k = no

This is one of Armstrong's framesets from Team Motorola (USPS before he got cancer).

I have a letter of authenticity and the factory tags.

dunno, with the right customer you might stand to make a good bit. It will be worth more if he wins the tour this summer!

It's worthless. It's missing wheels, gears, a chain, cables, derailleurs, handlebar, seat, etc.

I think you were joking but a bike shop owner told me that it would be worth more to him if it was complete. I guess so, but with a little patience you could easily build it up just like Lance had...the frame is the only unavailable piece.

*shrug* This is how it came to me.

Another guy on teh intarweb has this one:

which he claims was the one Lance rode to win the $1,000,000 Thrift Drug triple crown, but I don't know about that. It is not for sale.

Not really much of a story. I raced at the 1996 USPRO Criterium Championship in Downers Grove, IL. The 7-11/Motorola US Warehouse Manager for the past few years had driven down from Minnesota or wherever with a van-load of Motorola gear. The only other thing memorable was a Steve Bauer TT Bike, complete. I saw this Lance frame and had to have it. Keep in mind, this was pre-cancer and pre-tour de france badass.

Hehe, well let's see...an Eddy Merckx MX Leader alone, not to mention a Team Motorola Caloi that was Armstrong's, retailed for $1,800, so I'll have to decline your generous offer

I don't doubt it retailed for that much.
But you know as well as I do retail has nothing to with used prices much less a used frame set. And I'm not interested in buying it. I was just answering your questions of how much I think its worth.

I'd pay money for a pre-cancer TdF 1 or post-cancer post TdF 2 & 3 Lance bike or frame sest with the same heritage.
Much more money. Let us know how much you end up selling it for.

FYI all of Lance's TdF wins were post-cancer.

It will be on E-bay shortly enough, I'm just trying to find someone with a good rating to list it for me so that it will be taken seriously. I think the starting price will be $3,000.

Really?

I thought #1 was won and then just after he discovered he was cancerous. Well no matter. I'd pay money for a 'cancer' bike.

I would say about $1,000 being that it was a frame that a World Champ rode.

MV

I would try to get him to sign it!

He discovered the cancer in '96 shortly after his disappointment at the '96 Olympics in Atlanta. I bought this frame a couple months before that, so it kinda is a cancer frame

He battled cancer for a few years, floundered at his first race back in the peleton (Tour of Spain I believe), then won the first tour in '99 (I think).

I have an oversized Oakley poster showing Lance riding a "Caloi" (it was actually a Litespeed titanium) in the '96 Olympic road race. I met Lance and he signed this poster for me, "Nice bike Matt! [Lance Armstrong]". It would have been a good companion piece for the frameset had I not asked him to include my name. I probably would want to keep that anyhow.

I met him at a bike show (CABDA). It was pretty sad, it was shortly after he had finished chemo (and before the TdF's). When I heard he was down at the Cycleops booth I rushed down there, expecting a crowd. His hair was still all gone and no one was even talking to him...I couldn't believe it...here was a past world champ, Tdf stage winner who wasn't getting the time of day. I think that was around the time Cofidis abandoned him as well. Oh well, he showed them.
