Talking so i get back from germany and get a brand new car...what could be better?

so yeah, i got back from germany a week ago. i was able to get home a few days early. for those of you who dont know, i was deployed in the army reserve to germany in support of OIF/OEF. i worked in the hospital that got all the patients from iraq and afghanistan. i was gone for almost one year, and it sucked. since my parents didnt want to keep up with my old car (94 ford probe) they sold it while i was gone (for considerably less than i wanted for it). i saw that as just a way to force me to finally try and get the wrx ive been dreaming of for almost 2 years now. saturday i called kevin at SoD and went out to see what he had. amazingly he had just gotten in exactly what i wanted and kept it in hiding for me. i would have tried to drive away with it on saturday, but my insurance place wasnt open so i had to wait till monday. long story short, i picked up the car on monday and havent stopped driving it yet. i love it. i cant wait it get past the 1000 mile mark so i can start thorwing stuff on it. all my friends are jealous. ok, well i just thought i would let you all know. and by the way, i couldnt have done any of this without the help of kevin who was willing to work with me from germany to try and get the process started while i was still away. if any of you dont know kevin he rocks and will bend over backwards to help you. great guy. ok ill talk to all of you later.

yes i got a red wrx with a spoiler. i will be doing all the other upgrades that i want later on. first up though is a nice set of wheels and tires and a good alarm system.

weiger54, yeah it kinda stinks knowing that someone from home is soo close but you cant see them. if i had a car out there things might have been different...oh well, not much i can do about it now. drink a weizen for me.

kevin, haha..bend over forwards...i knew i should have changed that phrase when i typed it. sorry man. as far as the pics go, thats cool ill just have to get out there one day when im not working. ill let you guys clean it up for me and you can take some pics.

and thanks to all for your support and appreciation of what the military is doing. its always nice to be recognized for a sacrafice. one of the coolest things that happened to me was getting back in the country. we came through customs and walked out into a hall full of vietnam and korean war vets thanking us and welcoming us back home. giving us the warm handshakes they never got. so thanks everyone. and hopefully ill see you on the road or at a get together soon.

Thanks for your service! One of my best friends returned home this past Tuesday from Iraq. He's still outprocessing from active duty at Fort Hood as he is a reservist but got called up last January and was over in Kuwait and Iraq since last February.
