Default WTB: WRX Spare tire?

I am upgrading my brakes and I am looking for a 16" Wheel for a spare tire.

Any one have a 2000 RS wheel kicking around they would sell? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Derek

Woody,

Same here, I have one slightly bent MY01 wheel if you really, really want it. I was thinking of getting it repaired at Panther, but I'll probably never actually get around to doing that.

Cheers.

i thought of using a full size but then i found out in order to put it in the spare tirewell i lose the underfloor tray and the storage space for the cargo cover

Are you upgrading all 4 brakes or just to 4 pot front? If it's just the front you can just swap the rear wheel up to the front and put the spare on the back.

that's not fun koyo... i've done that once already when i used to have spoon 4-pots on my type-r... had a puncture on hwy1, tire mousse kit didn't work, took me an hour and a half to swap the rear to the front with cars going by me at 100km/h+

Well, I am just doing the front but like Benjamin said, I wouldn't be happy to be sitting in the rain on the side of the road trying to change 2 tires, although that is a good idea, if I just have my current spare.

So, maybe I am a little mixed up about the spare tire for a WRX then. So is the spare tire a 16' rim, but slightly skinnier then an actual full size WRX Tire? (If that makes any sense at all) I would prefer not lose any space in the back, or my cargo cover space.

the wrx spare is i believe a 16" steel rim, but it's an emergency size (i forget the width) space saver.

the other guys are talking about damaged 16x7 alloy RS wheels, which is full size. that will take up your entire spare tire well and there will be no space for the hidden cargo tray and the horizontal underfloor rack for the cargo cover.

were u asking for a spare tire from an RS instead of a full size alloy?

Well, I am looking for either a 16" skinny spare, or a cheap 16" full tire, as long as it fits in under the floor mat.
