Smile Mountain Biking this SAT

Ok lets do a MTB day.. hrmm I love single tracks, but since this will be an event we need fireroad trials. So i would not recommend single track places.. not to mention not everyone is in that skill level yet.. how about Grant Ranch Park In Mt. Hamilton down in San Jose.. that is a big park with little people perfect for a gathering place.. beautiful scenery and we could pack for picnic there too.. how about this coming saturday?

The thing with mission peak daniel is that i don't think everyone is ready for that level of climbing.. remember this is for an event.. so unless everyone is in good shape mission peak might be a bit tough.. that is why i said SJ's mt hamilton

Yeah, that's about right.

How about something on the western side of the peninsula instead? MUCH less hot and dry! Saratoga hills or something? Stevens Canyon? San Bruno Mountain?

I've got half-slicks on my MTB so I'm not equipped for serious trail madness, but I'm in otherwise!

By the way, how does everybody intend to bring their bikes? Surely they are a tight squeeze in the trunk. Roof racks? Paint scratchin' trunk racks? Dahon foldables?

whats saratoga hills? i only know saratoga gaps and that place is crowded on weekends, but a kick ass ride.. and lots of single tracks where ur slick will get u killed.
bikes will fit in the impreza.. just fold down the seats by taking out 2 bolts.. i do it all the time.. how about Lake Chabot in San Leandro? easy easy place for newbies and a good 12mile trial

Question

bluesaint:

Which two bolts do you take off to fold down the seat? Inquiring minds want to know...

Let's pick a place already! I vote for Saratoga Hills bcuz everywhere is going to be crowded anyway. Somebody post directions and a time and I'll be there!

i would go saratogahills if i know where it is.. lake chabot i say is perfect cuz the biking trails are never crowded. u'll see a biker or two occasionaly, but dats it.. as for blue imp u first gotta take out the two bolts holding the bottom part of the seat out.. take out the bottome seat and then u'll see the bolts for the top back rest of the seats

Bummer, I could have swung by to pick you up. Oh well, no biggie, I had a great ride nonetheless -- good suggestion!

We should try again when more of the crew is interested.
