Default KYB GR-2's vs. stock WRX struts

Is there any advantage with the GR-2's as apposed to stock WRX struts?

GR-2's don't work on 02+ Imprezas; KYB AGX's work on sedans only, konis work on sedan or wagon

KYB lists P/N's for the GR-2's for the WRX....IIRC KYB will do special valving on the GR-2's to suite special needs...like really stiff springs.... as well.

The AGX's are usually purchased because they are adjsutable and the cost is only a bit more thatn the GR-2's

poison, maybe you would like to edit your post.

Just wondering because I'm looking at a used setup... GR-2's with eiboch pro's. I'm wondering if there's any advantage to running the GR-2's instead of just running the springs with stock struts.

GR2 springs are better then stock. Typically for other subarus, the GR2's are 20% stiffer then OEM struts. Whether that carries over to the WRX I'm not sure. Email kyb, and they should be able to tell you.

Vaus....you may want to check the P/N's on those used struts to make sure that they are NOT for the GC8...
If they are for the GC8...then buying the WRX specific ones may prove less problematic in the long run.

The WRX GR-2 P/N's are:
rf 334304
rr 334306
lf 334305
lr 334307

OK, bad wording in my original post, and I was half wrong: just like with the AGX, they only make a GR-2 for the sedan.

KYB lists AGX's(and GR-2's) for the rear of the WRX wagon...they are the same as the sedan....And people have had good success installing the GC8 fronts(AGX's) on the bugeye wagon, as well.

Just so everybody knows
