Question Sealant on exhaust gaskets? Yay or nay?

I've never gotten really gotten an answer to this question. Do I need to use any sort of gasket dressing on any of the exhaust gaskets? I'll be replacing all of them from the engine back on my '01 RS. If so, what kind? Thanks.

Nic....if they aren't leaking then there is no need to replace them.
You invite problems through unnecessary complication.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm installing all new exhaust components (Borla headers, Stromung track pipe, Stromung mid-pipe, and ScoobySport muffler). The old gaskets are not reusable (all cracked and funky). So this is why I ask my question. So?

Sorry, Nic.....You could use some of that spray stuff if ya want...won't hurt anything...If not...
I, personally, would use some for a new system....makes the gaskets stick a bit during assembly too...a little easier sometimes.

I've heard that a bit of copper sealant can work wonders with gaskets.

I've used that stuff before, when I've reused old gaskets. I was just curious if anything is necessary on new gaskets. I may just use some due to the fact that these aren't stock components (i.e. they might not mate up perfectly).

Couldn't hurt to use it on new gaskets right?
