Post How much do these WRC drivers get paid?

I'm guessing their income depends on sponsorship of different companies and stuff. How much is that usually?

At one point I saw that Colin McRae is getting 16 million pounds per year from Ford.
The F1 drivers make even more. Those guys are fricken rolling in it.

Question

Speaking of rolling in it, Jeff, how about buying me a turbo? Well, I guess if that's not possible, I'll settle for Kartboy shifter/bushings...

I had heard on Speedvision that a newer F1 driver that was getting the nod to race with the McLaren/Mercedes team signed a 4 year deal for $6 million US. That's a rookie driver. Just think of what the vets get. Everything in that sport costs money though, the driver shouldn't be any different since they are the ones doing the actual racing.

Well I thought I just heard that Villeneuve signed a 3 year deal for $60 million.

I think that guys like Schumacher and Hakkinen make in the tens of millions each year.

Seems like a nice line of work.

I don't know if Burns drives a Porsche or not, I do know he crashed one while participating in some race.
Also McRae got a 22B when he drove for Subaru, he may or may not still drive it.

After I drive at 5psi, driving MY00 without the turbo seems so slow.
This said I wonder what the Normal cars feel like to them after driving in a 600+hp demon.

Gambit,
They probably drive whatever the he!! they want, with that kind of money. I'd guess a lot of Ferrari's, Lambo's, Aston Martins, maybe even the McLaren F1's... And a lavishly appointed Rover for the wife. :]
