Question Help with posting videos

Whats up everyone, I was wondering, my friend has a Sony Digital high 8 camcorder, cost him $1000, he has taken a couple of videos of me playing in the dirt with my RS.

He cant seem to upload the videos, only still shots.

Do you guys know of a good reasnobly priced video editing/ software, that will enable him to transfer the videos to the computer, for editing and stuff like that.

Thanks for the help

if the camera has a firewire connection (which it most likely does, but will be called iLink on the Sony) then you can pick up a firewire board to capture the video. the only problem with this is that he'll need a fairly decent system running Win98b, and a fast harddrive (7200 RPM).

with the firewire option, you can pick up the Studio DV kit for ~$100. the editing software that comes with it isn't the greatest, but will do the job. If he wants to do really good editing and near professional production, then he should look into something a little better.

The other way to go is to get the ATI All-In-Wonder Pro video card and it will just barely do the job, but it will get the job done.

If you really want more in depth explainations, feel free to drop me an email - i can send you a bunch of links that might help you out.
