Umm.. I bought my OBS because its butt-ugly. If the new Impreza was pretty, I'd hate it. I hope it ends up even uglier than that. Hell, how about stock colors of Pink, Lime, and Periwinkle only?

I really want 12" tires with 195/90R12's on it. YEAH TRACTION BABY

I like the new Impreza better. Looks MODERN and also like a Porsche 993. Not to mention performance. I like the current impreza too, but as time goes on people will get used to it like the Focus.

Does that mean that we can raise the price on our 2000 and below models than usual if we sell it? heh...

Hey, I already have somebody who is eager to buy me out of my lease on my 00' once the turbo is available and I can make the switch.

Who cares what the front looks like! You, like most others, will only get to see the backside of mine anyway!
He-he...

I don't think so ASNG, the 2.5 engines with aftermarket Turbos are hard to beat.

STI Sev, I'm a believer. Give me a new RS and I'll transplant the 2.0 engine in. This will kick butt on the new '02 Neon-WRX.

But wait -- should I or shouldn't I? Maybe the 2.5 with aftermarket Turbo is a better deal. You know there is no substitute for size. Could it be that I can do this for less than $27K? Maybe so.

Hey, if I have this idea maybe other people do too. Why would anyone buy the new car at all?

Thats it! I figured it out. Just say no. Don't buy the new car!

For Sale:
1999 Impreza RS. Something like 38,000 Miles. 20 mm Sway Bar. Excellent condition.

$25,000. 1st come, 1st serve. Any takers?

If you say the value is going to increase, I might as well make enough profit on it to buy the new car. On sale now. I might as well start now so when it somes time to buy the turbo when it gets her, i can have it sold for my asking price.

I don't know, I really think that my 2000 impreza looks better, (like the more angular look) but a factory turbo sounds real good too!

Does anyone think that the front looks just a little too much like the euro corolla, (the one that they use for wrc)???

skibaru,
you may be right, because the performance of the new car remains to be seen.

However do not forget, you are talking about a "highly modified" car vs. something that rolled out of the showroom.

OK, so then what about a modified turbo vs. a "turbo-ed" 2.5RS??!!
If you think an RS is something with a slap-on turbo, wait till you see the potential of the new Impreza, a car that was DESIGNED as a turbo from start.

I wouldn't be supprised if it was just a highly de-tuned 280 HP turbo, just so it can meet U.S. emission standards, and so it can run on 91 octane, but, with all the right hardware still lurking under the hood.
A few "tweaks", some octane boost, and it'll be pumping out 300 horses all day long.

Bring-em on baby!!...

STi Sev,

LOL! That's pretty clever! I never thought of it that way! YAY! My car still looks better! I'll sell it for $100,000! Any takers?

Who knows, maybe it'll get a face lift in model year '03.

Question

OK STI Sev you know something. I think Rsquire does too.

Come on throw us a bone. I can't ignore your BS flags about the new pictures, and when you make statements like "I know this isn't it". I've got to wonder what you know.

If you know something, can you say what it is? If you can't talk, can you at least tell us why?

Whatsup?

If you work on the X-Files set, then I guess I understand. I hope everybody else can.

I knew it! It is a CONSPRIRACY! Oops - sorry does all caps get the attention of the MODERATOR?

OK, STI Sev or Rsquire - I don't expect you to talk about anything. But, maybe, just maybe, you could give us a thumbs up or thumbs down in a post about what you hypothetically know.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Unhappy

STI Sev - this really must be the X-Files. Last night when I was posting I could have sworn I saw a post on this thread that was a URL for a JPEG photo. I was entering my post and came back and it DISSAPEARED! Maybe I was just tired or dreaming - but I don't think so. I didn't catch who posted it.

Could it be that this was a picture of the new REAL '02 Impreza? Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I really think it happened.

Somebody pulled the post from the board.

Your name isn't Mulder is it?
