88 XT Turbo??? Is it a full-time Turbo, meaning it's actually a 87.5 and you have a SUPER-RARE Subaru, possibly the rarest Subaru in the country???

If you do, join us over on the XT6 forums. They accept 4cyl XT's openly, I'm very active over there. Also give the USMB. Between both those places, you should find some parts.

And do WHATEVER YOU CAN to keep the car if it is as I described. It's a RARE ONE!

Being a turbo, it should be a 4 lug. So 13 inch subaru wheels will fit as will rims from a peugeot 504 and 505

There is a page with all the wheels that fit 4 lug subarus listed somewhere on the Ultimate subaru message board www.ultimatesubaru.net but I cant seem to find it right now

your local pull a part locations may have the parts you need.

There are afew XT's down here in the Oregon yards too

is there a way to tell what spec an XT is from the VIN? AWD / FWD / 4/6/turbo etc?

I can do some narrowing down without a VIN, but yes, if I got the VIN, I could do some 100% sure deciphering...

If it's an 85-87 (has the older style front bumper) and it's 4WD, it's turbo. No NA XT's from 85-87 came in 4WD. But there were plenty of FWD turbos.

If it's an 88-91 XT 4cyl (there are no turbos from 88 on), then you have these options:

-- 88-89-(90?*) had these options:
-- FWD auto
-- FWD manual
-- On-Demand (pushbutton) manual
-- Fulltime 4WD (AWD) auto

91 XT's were FWD only and were either manual or auto

* So few 1990 XT's were produced we don't have any specs or confirmed owners

XT6:

Produced 88-89-91 (no 90 XT6)

All XT6 FWD's were auto/All 5spd XT6's were Fulltime 4WD (AWD)
There were also Fulltime 4WD XT6 autos.

There were a very few 87.5 XT's produced, which had the newer style bumpers. If you find a Fulltime 4WD XT Turbo, it has to be 87.5 and it is supposedly the RAREST XT there is, that's what XT lover has.

That should sum up the XT line for you.

The DL in the model description tells you that its the base trim for Subaru's. Nothing fancy, no turbo, no 4wd(some did). But its got a 5spd and most likely FI(but could be carbed).
