Have a Nice Day? Any Tips on how to tighten the rear endlinks on the XT and STi?

I've been doing alot of suspension work on my XT and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to properly tighten the rear endlinks on it.

They are on ball joints, so they spin. There's no hex end so an allen wrench won't work like the front one.

You'd need a REALLY thin wrench to get in behind it.

And I really don't want to clamp on the threads and ruin it.

Can someone help?

Thanx!

Bry.

On every car that I have come across that situation, I either

A, Oxy-Acetalene torched them off
B, Vice gripped it and ruined the threads

Wish I had more advice for ya

if you pull back the dust boot near the joint, there is a flat section that you put a 14mm wrench on. then you can keep that wrench stationary and tighten the nut. hope this helps

There is an 'allen' hex in the end of the threaded end of the bolt...IIRC it's 5mm....you hold the bolt with the allen wrench and turn the nut on/off.

There are only holes on the front ones, the rear ones are solid.
