Default close your own thread? in case of accidental duplicate post?

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if the users of this board (users<mooderators) could close their own thread?

Case in point. Say you double post by accident, and you want to get rid of the duplicate thread. The forum does not allow a thread delete, so how about a close feature?

How can you double post by accident? Isn't there a 30sec. delay between posting and then being allowed to post again?

Don't hit "Submit New Tread" twice. Problem solved.
