Talking Shifter Bushings!

I just installed some Cobb shifter bushings on my WRX and let me say, what an easy and inexpensive mod! And very well worth it IMO.

To those who are thinking about doing this, don't be scared, it took me less than 15 minutes, and that included jacking up the car. I have the factory installed short shifter and even with that, it made a HUGE difference. The factory bushing is like a bouncy ball compared to the new one.

I want to thank Tom from Kartboy again for his insight into this and even though I didn't buy from him this time, I will in the future.

Do you have a thread or website for an installation how-to?

Use this tip from scoobymods or else you will have a much harder time removing the oem bushing. Force it out with the tip of the bolt

It was alot easier than I anticipated. I just stuck a screwdriver halfway into the rubber bushing and pryed it out. Very simple.

Has anyone had their warranty voided on account of this mod?

Warranty on what? How can these adversely affect anything? I would slap the service person who told me my transmission warranty is void due to a short shifter or shifter bushings.

On another note, I installed my kartboy bushings two days ago....Nice notchy shifting. I shoulda done it months ago.

Yeah, on the tranny. I just figured with all the horror stories of denied warranties this might be one of the reasons SOA gives. To be honest, the most I've done under a car is change the oil, so I'm just afraid I might screw something up. Although, it seems pretty straight-forward...
