Thumbs up Bosal Catback

Hey all,
I just wanted to share my thoughts on my new Bosal single tip catback. I purchased it Tuesday morning from Daddy's and received it Thursday afternoon--awsome service!!

The muffler has a chrome look that I'm not too fond of, but the tip size is absolutly perfect(too bad it isn't a rolled tip). Construction looks to be very good.

The sound resembles stock, but a little louder and deeper at idle. I am running this with a bosal dp and stock 1st and 3rd cats. Switching from a turboxs RFL-TI to this bosal, the sound is pretty mellow/boaring--my neighbors love it. I had my brother do a couple of drive-by's(I wanted to hear it from outside of the car) and I think it sounds great. It shares a very strong resemblence in sound to a porsche 911.

Performance wise, I think it pulls a little harder and smoother in town, but there is NOTICABLE INCREASE in pull on the highway--I can pass in 5th gear now. I can't wait untill my accessport arrives

All and all, I am very happy with my purchase. Good product(especially for $359 shipped), and awsome customer service from Daddy's.
P.S. supplied bolts did not fit with stock 3rd cat--I had to buy my own.

You can reuse the factory bolts/springs, but its difficult to push them through far enough using hand strength. Take a pair of vise grips or similiar and with one end on the bolt head and the other end at the backside of the 3rd cat flange. You can then "squish" on the springs enough to get the bolt through far enough so you can thread the nut. I've done this a couple of times and it works. I keep on forgetting to send an email to Bosal letting them know the bolts they supply don't fit. Glad you liked it.

Just installed mine, and I would recommend it to anyone. Quality was good, fit was good, and sound is very good. Thanks to Daddy's for the the tip about the spring bolts. Was able to reuse them and everyhing worked out great.

I am well aware of the problem. When i install the system I do the same thing with the vise grip. Will try to find longer bolts. Kurks thats not chrome that's polished 304 S/S.

If ny1 cares:

the bolts/springs provided by SPT/Bosal work quite well on an 06 WRX.
Installed mine a couple of months ago - perfect fit, and used new bolts/etc.

Did you get the exhaust from Subaru as an SPT or from a vendor as a Bosal? Is the SPT a full catback, or is it an axleback?

I'd love to hear a soundclip on an 06 if you can

I have a Bosal catback sitting in the floor in my garage that I found at a muffler shop used for 50 bucks. As soon as I can pick out a downpipe and get it then I plan on getting it on my 06. I'll keep you posted.

Or better yet, how much can I expect to pay from a dealer? Subaru sent me a $100 off coupon, so I was thinking of using it. Of course, if I can't get a decent deal, I won't do it.

SPT from stealership.
It is a full cat-back (axle + pipe (no resonator)).
I'll do mah best to do a sound clip one of those days...unless some1 beats me to it.

PS:
You can do better than 399$
