Hello,

I'm getting an 05 STi when they arrive (hopefully in the next few months) and
I've reverted my 02 wrx to stock. Below is a list of what I have... What is
worth keeping for the STi? Most are obvious, but just wanted to run it by you
guys.

Once I've finalized the list, I hope to sell off the remainder locally .

Thanks in advance,
Masuo

How much for the rear sway bar?
I would be very interested.
Thanks,

I have a set of almost brand new OEM rear brake pads if you want them for your return to stock. . .

Masuo, you and I are gonna have to have a long conversation and a significant exchange of funds/car parts.

I'm fairly certain that the fuel pump is the same. I'll double check tonight. We just installed one in an STI and I believe it had the same PN.

The tranny mount I don't think will work with the 6MT.

I think the VF34 is actually a little smaller, but if you want better low-end response, a VF34 would be able to give you probably another 50 or so nicely reliable ponies, but more bottom end than stock if my turbo sizing is correct (and it's ball-bearing.) If you were to keep that, I'd keep the IC too. Could always get the Accessport when they release it in the next few months for the STi. The splitter would also likely be useful with the TXS IC.

You'd probably be able to easily run stock injectors and pump.

So do the STBs make that much of a difference on the GD's? I was under the impression they didn't.

Also, aren't the 5MT and 6MT clutches different? So why keeping the 5MT Exedy clutch?

So what parts will all be going into an STi, from what you have and what you plan on purchasing?

The tranny mount is exactly the same.

The issue with the TXS TMIC is it sits too far back, the TB on the STI is moved backwards due to the throttle by wire, so I don't think it would fit with the AC lines there. There is barely any room for it in the WRX.

The VF34 is actually slightly larger than the VF39 that comes on the STI. It has a larger exhaust housing than the VF39.

STBs make a little difference but there are more gains to be had with swaybars and other suspension stuff. Rear STB makes a decent difference in a wagon.

You can use a 5MT clutch in a 6MT, the 6MT clutch disk/pressure plate is only minimally larger, like 2-3mm.

Nice to remedy my inaccuracies. Gotta learn something new every day.

Only reason I thought the 6MT had a different mount is because I've seen them advertised differently.

The throttle by wire theoretically shouldn't add much if anything, but that's just theoretically.

Got the specs on the VF39 and VF34? I know IHI numbers and sizes rarely coorelate to any guideline. I'm just wondering because I've never really saw any numbers on the VF39. Does the VF34 have better spool characteristics or anything to really set it apart?

dman918: Sorry, but somebody already called dibs on it, but I have yet to see cash in hand . I'll let you know if the guy defaults.

dwx: thanks for the info as usual .

blue-sun: I got my stock ones too. Thanks anway.

mrbigisbudgood: sure thing! I'll look forward to doing business with you.

JoKeR 13: Thanks! I might not need it though... I'd like to know the difference between the walbro and the stock Sti one.

SUBE555: Actually... I've decided to sell the VF34, and go with a 20G or GT32. I'm probably going to go with a FMIC this time so I'll sell the TMIC w/ goodies as well (even if it fits). Still need to decide on engine management....

Thanks for the input guys!

Anything else?

You got the STi hood scoop right?

If I were you, I'd want my TMIC and APS splitter...
