You'll be somewhere in the vicinity of Hell (Michigan, that is)! Heh, just had to say that. There are actually some cool backroads to bomb down over there. Hopefully some of the fellows from the Ann Arbor area will resply to this topic, 'cause I think there will be quite a few of them reasonably close to you.

Hey, Steve. I'm in South Lyon, about 20min north of Ann Arbor (where I work). Ah yes, lots of fun roads out here. Like Hankerd Rd., just south of Hell. Perhaps the most irresponsibly-constructed 3 mile long piece of smooth pavement in the state. Lots of hard corners, sharp hills, and that surprise 20mph 90 degree bend with all the skid marks off into the woods, yeehaa! Turn around and do it again!

Yes Ryan, we are due for another meet! Of course we'll have to wait until I get my new struts and springs installed......or not.

I remember this road off 94 west of AA... it was exit... clear lake rd? yeah! thats it.. not Grass lake, but Clear lake. Its about 20 minutes past AA on 94 west. That road it amazing! it is such a blast to drive on. Too bad the speed limit is so low (35?) But with a good detector (like my V1), it would be awesome.
Ryan, Fred, Frank- How about a couple weekends from now, we have another AA meet? The dream Cruise is this weekend, and we need a bit of time to let everyone know, so who wants to organize? Ryan, you're coming to Hodges tonight, right? I met the service manager last night. He drives a red 94 outback... I kinda told him you (might) be there. well, see ya! -JP |

Steve, you will want to get a map from the Huron-Clinton Metropark system. The map is called Huron-Clinton Metropark Guide.
Learn it Live it Be it Anyway, when it comes time to head out, contact me privately. There are a lot of fun roads, paved and gravel, and if you plan on gravel, I would recommend you get a set of gravel tires, and only drive fast at night (you can see oncoming cars' headlights. I used to take my 323GTX rally car out in those areas for testing, and I will tell you, If you can wait for winter, and get a set of Blizzaks or equivilant, you can have a lot of fun with your car. By the way, my 99 Imprezza should arrive next week, and immediately rally preparation work will start. Hope to have it ready by the end of September... Get the map and e-mail me for suggestions. steve nowicki |
