Default SLC Meet this Sunday 3/14 ?

Well, we were talking about this in the BIG thread but maybe more people will see it if its a separate topic. We have discussed getting together for the first meet of the season. Sunday looks to be about 50 degrees and sunny. The suggested time is 4pm at the park n ride at the bottom of Big Cottonwood canyon. I personally think this is not a good location this time given the ski resorts are still open and that lot will likely be full (with heavy traffic exiting the canyon around that time). I suggested the parking lot at the Albertson's at the SW corner of 90th S and Highland. There is a McDonalds right there and that lot is always empty. Thats only about 5 minutes east of Little Cottonwood just right down 90th if you keep heading east out of the canyon instead of heading north towards big cottonwood. I am easy, we can meet at the park n ride and I will show up. I just think it'll be hectic. Thoughts? Suggestions? Discuss.

I'm up for it, even if there is no driving and just hanging out. I will be out of state for the rest of the month.

Yeah, I'm up for a meet even if there is no drive. We could always do more of an in-town drive like Wasatch blvd or up south mountain in Draper or something... Til the ski resorts close and most of the snow melts off the higher passes we've used in the past, those roads will either be crowded or unsafe due to wet pavement and whatnot. I am excited to do that Kamas run again but it might be a month or two before that could happen realistically.

Sunday... I'm down, but 98% percent sure it will be in an EVO. I agree with Erik on the parking lot being crowded at the base of the canyon. I'm good with the Albertson's idea.

I am fine with meeting at BCC if need be. If there is traffic coming down at 4-4:30 (which there always is) and any melt-off on the road I won't bother driving up the canyon... and it'll be cold up there anyhow. We could also meet in the Hogle Zoo parking lot like we used to... That Albertson's is at 9400 S not 90th btw...

You get your Evo today bro?! I guess lets just meet at the park n ride at the mouth of Big Cottonwood at 4pm then... I suspect its going to be full but hopefully I'm wrong. Maybe most folks will have wrapped up by then or even just drove up the canyon to ride... its not like the road is bad.

I may have to actually drive the STI and give the Mini a rest.....LOL
Are we going to do this it sounds like ti could be fun. Me and my friend Robert with the M3 drove all of the canyons Monday and it was great. As far as water is concerned there is a reason our cars are all wheel drive. Let me know where we are actually meeting and lets go play.

Hey Matthew, yeah I am planning on showing up in the lot at Big Cottonwood at 4pm... hope I am not lonely. As far as a drive, I dunno... up to you guys. There will be traffic up there from people leaving the ski resorts...

Well where is a good place to go drive? Anyone have any god ideas. Get stuck behind a bunch of sport utes wont be that fun. We could go Emigration Canyon. Whatcha guys think? I am pretty sure wolf creek is closed still. We could go to Millcreek canyon that is pretty fun. Someone let me know. I am pretty sure I am going to drive down.

lol, this has gotten real busy real fast. I had originally thought Albertson's was a good idea but it didn't seem too many people were interested in that. I guess I'll show up at BCC park n ride at 4pm then since its 3:05pm now and that seemed to be the consensus...

Yeah, it was good to see everyone again... and see some new faces as well. Next time we'll have to do a more proper meet. Hopefully the weather will be a litte warmer, etc. I've love to do the Park City meet with the run to Kamas and so on. That's such a great road. Anyway, here are the 2 pics I snapped before freezing my arse off and getting back in the car.

Just 'Save As' or sometimes you can just hit refresh on the the browser. For some reason my hosting company doesnt like the direct linking, but if you refresh it thinks you are hitting the site directly, then it works.
