Where did you all get your Subys? Byers? Hatfield? Elsewhere? My wife got hers up at Byers. If you're unhappy with your dealership I highly recommend them. The salesman we worked with is awesome and the service people are great too.

Autobytel---
Byers on Hamilton Rd. had none in stock at the time I wanted to purchase. Patrick Subaru on Billingsly Rd. were not willing to deal, so I did the next best thing, searched for it on the net. I put out a bid of $18,000.00 for a 99 rally blue 5 speed and got an answer from a Sube dealership in Massilon the next day. I took delivery 4 weeks later. Best car shopping experience ever! |

Well, unfortunately, I bought mine at Hatfields. I got it for a super price and drove it off the showroom floor (it was the only one they had), but the service there has been HORRIBLE! If you don't drive a Hyundai, they could care less about you.
I started taking my car to Byers for any servicing and they have been majorly terrific and believe this or not....HONEST! I took my car in saying I was concerned that the timing belt tensioner was noisy and they took it in and said that honestly to save me a diagnostic fee they could tell me right off the bat that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. I've never had a dealership not do the work anyway just to make a buck. On another note, Patrick is VERY expensive and I have heard horror stories about their service department. |

Actually, Patrick Mazda-Subaru is now Byers Mazda-Subaru, and it's where I got mine. Sorry, I should have mentioned I got it up there, not at the one out East.
I've had nothing but great experiences with Byers. My wife and I have bought both her cars from them. The first was a Miata, which we just traded in for the Suby because we're gonna do the whole family thing and well, the Miata just wasn't gonna cut it. I think we got a pretty good deal from them ... about $20k for a 2.5 sedan w/ CD, floormats, and the cargo net thingy. Plus, if we want it, they'll sell us the tower brace for cost (though I've heard an aftermarket one will be much better). As far as Hatfield goes - I HATE them and their whole Automall spiel. I dealt with the VW/Kia side of it and they pissed me off. Their used car manager was a jerk and screwed me over and I would never ever ever in a million years recommend them to anyone. Okay, sorry for the venting. [This message has been edited by AudiGuy (edited August 18, 2000).] |

If you go in, try to work with a guy named Jon Haskins. He's the salesman my wife and I have worked with twice and he's a real stand-up kind of guy. His days off are Tuesday and Sunday.

No way! Patrick was sold????? GOOD!!!!!!!!! Those guys were about as bad as Hatfield. They kept wanting to sell me a leftover '97 OBS for more than I bought my '98 OBS for. I just kept laughing at them. The guy actually said, well if you can buy a '98 so cheap why don't you just go down there and get it. So, I did. Ha! Poor way of doing business. I'm glad that there is a Byers closer to home now. I'm going to have to visit now to check out their Subie collection. However, I'm waiting for the STX to come out.
