Post 2nd or 3rd gen Legacy with Impreza turbo motor?

anybody thought about this? since the turbo impreza will probably hit US shores before the legacy H6, and assuming its a 2.2 or 2.5 turbo, would an engine swap be possible for current or even previous generation (94-99) legacies?

The H6 is on the outback already, so you can get the H6 from the dealer and drop it into the 2nd gen or 3rd gen shell. Just need to figure out how to match the H6 to a MT....

well what i meant was that the turbo prez will probably get here before the H6 makes its way into a SEDAN chassis

i personally would prefer to have a stock turbo four already on a MT, seems relatively easier and has more potential to plug that into a legacy than a heavier, albeit torquier H6 that's already mated to a four-speed auto, so thats why i ask

Nope, those engines WILL NOT bolt into the '95-'99 BD5/9's They are Phase 2 engines and will not work with the heads on the Phase 1 boxer engines in the '95-'99 Legacys.
