Cool OT:Proof that the IRL Sucks!

So glad to see Juan Montoya spank the crap out of those 2nd rate drivers. This, after driving an entire race a day earlier. C'mon who is the IRL kidding. Time to get rid of it and have the Cart series return to Indy. Hopefully they will use the new road coarse at Indy if they return

I'm with you, I told the Mrs. that if the Target cars win it just proves the other drivers and teams are mostly second rate. Funny how Buddy Lazier, Scott Goodyear, et al couldn't win CART races with any frequency (or even finish) but remove all the competition and add a bunch of newbies and they win the 500...ya right.

If people want to watch cars race in circles there's always NASCAR (beyond boring).

I was interested to read that the owner of the Meynard team said something about the IRL really needs to look at this and realize they have a problem, lack of talent. This coming from one, if not the, best teams in the IRL so it is a huge admission. The only reason I, and everyone I know, watched the INDY was to see Jaun and Jimmy. No one cares about the drivers in IRL. The one good thing that can be said about the IRL is that there are a bunch of American drivers in the series. Although, it has never really bothered me that CART is mostly foreign drivers as long as they are good enough to be in the series.

What about making the INDY 500 a nonpartisan race. Meaning, make it have no affiliation to CART or IRL. It is big enough to stand on its own. I think this would help draw some more of the CART folks over. Come up with an INDY specific car that everyone used. Not CART or IRl but something in between. Maybe a Subaru, or maybe not. Tony Goerge would still make a ton of money off the event because he owns the track.

Problem with that is the big buck teams would spank the crap out of the little guys. Possibly, running two races, a regular and lights league. Either way, the reason F1 cars are coming in is becuase the owner's losing money on the whole IRL.(Funny how Lynn St. James and Fisher eliminated eachother, pathetic :eek

I thought the Indy 500 is actually sanctioned by USAC. It used to be anyway. I was so glad to see Montoya dominate. Lets see Billy Boat or Buddy Lazier come over to CART and win a race!! Yeah, that could happen, NOT! I could just hear Billy now "what's this boost knob for?"! That was classic when the two women took each other out. That was the first Indy 500 I actually watched in a long time, and yes it was because of the CART guys. Hopefully this stirs the pot big time. Maybe Penske will finally come back to Indy next year.

As far as I know, the 500 is a USAC event because all of the IRL is under USAC rule. As for the big teams killing the little guy, I usually chear for the big guys anyway. I get caught up in the professionalism and team image more than routing for the under dog. Nice to chat with you all.
