Basically it's a link to a thread at ClubSi regarding other Honda owners they see on the road. I think it's mainly kids who don;t know any better. They'll grow out of it soon enough.
http://forums.clubsi.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006766.html As for us, we almost get ourselves killed trying to wave "HELLOOO!" at each other!

Well this all spawns from the fact that 1-most of them are young'uns (which ties in with 2), 2-immaturity, 3-competitiveness of a riceboy, and 4-that they're so common. The people on the board don't get it because they are the more intelligent of the Si owners out there.
Disclaimer : Don't flame me, I'm not insulting you and I didn't even mean to offend you. If you can't think about that one and agree, then you should go buy a Honduh yourself. ![]() |

Intelligent? Nope.....I'm smrt. S-M-R-T!
![]() I know a lot of them are young but still, if a stranger on the road waved "Hello" to me or aknowledged me, why would I give him or her the finger or give them the "stare"? |

Ok, immature AND irrational.
![]() As an example of irrational just look at a riced out car and wonder why anyone in their right mind would put all-clear rear clusters on it. *shrug* |

I can't belive what I was reading. I'm SO glad I got an RS instead of an Si. I don't have anything to prove, and if some dork revs his engine at me like he's cool, I just laugh and take comfort in knowing my 165hp engine will eat his 105hp engine for lunch on anyday, on any road, in any weather. Some of the people on that list are pretty bad. The one message that was in all caps about driving on the NJ parkway was amazing. Showed how "bright" that kid is. I've drivin the Parkway MANY times and it's NO place to speed, too many speed traps, too many tourists, too many toll booths. People like that should have their licence revoked.

No kidding. If I ever see a fellow RS (while driving) I'm going to do my best to try and say hi or something. I have seen one RS ever here in Raleigh...a black 98. That's it.
I can't imagine there being a "rivalry" thing. We both have a great car...what's there to fight about? Other than model year or color. ![]() "Silver!" "Rally Blue!" "Silver!" "Rally Blue!" "If you don't shut up, I'm gonna rev my engine and flick you off!" Edited to get the smilies straight. ![]() [This message has been edited by Overtime (edited May 09, 2000).] |

I don't think that will ever happend to Scooby drivers. I was getting one of those over priced juice smoothy things after just being let out of a jury duty
. Low and behold, I finally see another RS 25. After asking a couple of guys in the juice shop I meet the guy and we end up talking for about an hour about the car. He had suspension and engine mods and gave me a lot of good tips for when I start modding. Hopefully, the 2.0L Turbo won't make the car so popular and change the mindset of owners. |

I hope we don't start getting that problem after the turbo comes out. that would suck a$$!
We would have to start buying anti-rice guns for those trunk monkeys!![This message has been edited by John2.5RS (edited May 09, 2000).] |

Sorry to rain in on the comradare but I've posted about this topic before. I haven't met anyone off the board, but everyone else excluding the guys at Flatline motorsports, are pricks. Correction. I've met one guy in a brp EXACTLY like mine and he was really cool. Other than that, I get ignored, or I get maddogged. Whenever I see another RS I try at least say hi. Just like you guys. But then again I guess its the area that I live in, or work in rather.

Man that would suck if the new turbo brought those kinds of A-holes over to the Subaru group. I ended up meeting alot of locals just because of my car. Hell my car actually got me out of a ticket before! That was a switch since you'd expect it to get me into trouble and not out of it. The person who pulled me over was a Legacy owner.

I don't worry about the riceboy's at all being a pain when the new RX is out. (I refuse to call it a WRX) How abotu those FKN DSM and MK IV supra owners that populate the web. NO CAR CAN EVER BE BETTER THAN THIERS!! or at least they allway tell me that 10,000,000 times on any message board they are on. While we know all subarus are way cool, I don't think a single subaru owner thinks thier car is the end all of the automotive world. All I want to see is a MK IV or DSM owner haul a twin bed or a dresser in thier car. When a car can run 9's, haul funiture, and top out north of 200 I might believe that its the best car in the world bar none.

I posted on there. That must really suck for other drivers to be that way. I don't treat anybody like that, even the moronic riceboy civics. If I don't like the car, I usually just ignore it. If it's another Impreza of any type or an old Subaru, I'll usually wave and give a thumbs-up. Most of them do the same too, even the 50-year-old guy down the street with the OBS.
