Post Type R Impreza RS Coupe?!?

I just spotted this on http://www.racebreed.com/ -

It was in the Impreza WRX section under Aerodynamics all the way towards the bottom (quick link). To quote :

"Complete car trim for Type R and Impreza RS Coupe in the US. Comes with front, rear bumpers, skirts and adjustable rear wing, front and rear lower lips. Complete set is US$12,000"

I won't even comment on it... I'm in too much shock.

Yep thats no NOPI combat kit. That is the identical thing used in the GT racing in Japan. Its also made to be lightweight. Considering the kit is almost the cost of another RS I think I would have to pass on that one.

The STi WRX type R is a 2 door coupe. The STi WRX type RA is a four door. I think they are just saying the kit will fit 2 door Imprezas.

This body kit is from a company called Trial, and they make two body kits for the impreza. This one is called Blister, the other is called GTS-T. Trial called this car "TRY-R", which is where they are getting the type-r from. This car was the cover car in Max Power, Jan 2000.

Adi, you wouldn't happen to have the old copy with it on the cover laying around would you? I'd like to see the article on it. Any chance of you mailing me the mag or posting the article online?

I believe that this body kit is from Trial R
The kit has the wider fenders similiar to the 22B. Maybe that is why it cost so much. If you go to speedlab the car itslef is selling for about 60 grand. The body kit aound about right for 12k. But still its too rich for my blood.

Shaggy is right. The Japanese-spec coupe is known as the "Type-R". So the body kit fits two door Imprezas.
