Default has anyone seen the new Saab 9-2X?

i was watching the TV today espn i believe was doing a special on the recent auto shows... and the one feature car they had on was a the new saab 9-2X i believe it's called. practically the spitting image of a 02/03 WRX wagon, 2.0L h4 top mount IC hood scoop and very similar to identical rear window how it wraps around the sides. the interior looked a bit more "classy" i guess u could say, other than the seats which appeared to be the same again, black on the side bolsters and colored in the middle strip. looked nice, im not sure on the price tho off the top of my head, i think i remember it being around the price of a base WRX wagon. also available is a 2.5L n/a motor. all the specs are on there virtual tour ty

Phil

p.s. heres the link for people who are as lazy as i am if u havnt seen it yet...

Oh, geez.... that's a spittin' image.

Complete with 227hp turbo'd engine.

And, the center console looks eerily familiar, complete with shifter pattern the same as my Legacy wagon.

Couldn't tell too much, but the side skirts are similar, taillights are looking the same, and there may be frameless windows there too.

Nice. Wonder if they've made any improvements to it, especially in the security area?

The Saab 9-2X is a WRX wagon. End of story. Under the skin the cars are identical. The interior materials do seem to be SLIGHTLY upgraded. The seats are the same as the '02/'03 WRX seats, not the '04 seats. It will probably also have a better radio (did I just say that...sorry). A loaded wagon will probably be just shy of $30K. They also have sunroofs. I saw one in person at the Philly Auto Show behind ropes. It was very sharp and a nice, dare I say more mature version of a WRX wagon. They will be in dealers the first week of July per a few sources that I asked.

There calling it the Saabaru! I saw it at the International Auto Show in ATL this weekend. I took pics, but I don't know how to post them. Oh well, it looks real similar, but the WRX 0wns it easily.

Yeah, its a joint venture between Subaru and Saab. Basically, its a WRX wagon with a Saab grill.

Last year, my wife was picking Saab from the dealer so I had to drive her there in my WRX. While I was waiting the salesman asked to see my car. Then he told me about the 9-2X (it might all be BS, but here goes...)

GM wanted Saab to have an AWD vehicle, so the are saving $ on R&D by just having FHI make a WRX with some Saab styling. If sales goes well then Saab will make a their own version.

Yup....it's the same car for the most part, so all your performance/interior mods will fit.

Yeah I read it in Motor Trend, too.

Subaru is practically building it for Saab (isn't Saab owned by GM??? Maybe a Z06 motor is in the works for STI ), save for the "Saabish front clip." I hope Saab puts in its own clutch, though.

No luck there, it's a Subaru at heart. It does, however, sport leather interior.

why is the 9-3x or whatever $40000+?

its only 210hp

does saab "luxury" really kick ass that much for its premium?

I saw a write up on the 9-3x and although it is turbocharged it does the 1/4 in like 16.8 and 0-60 in like 8.9. Super slow for almost 50 grand!

Kinda hate to admit it, but I wouldn't mind swapping out the front fenders and fascia. I really like the way they made the hood scoop not look like a periscope.

Oh, and WTLW
