Yeah, that's about right.

Default Anybody ever do the Chuckanut drive?

Just over the border ... the talk over at NWIC has got me sorta interested

It looks like we're about the same distance from it as the Seattle guys. Anybody have experience with this drive?

I'm struck by the lack of decent twisty paved roads within 30 minutes of downtown Vancouver. Sure, there are Cypress and Seymour, but those are just long straights with a few hairpins. Sea-to-sky is also not really an option due to road hazards like cops and traffic. Stanley Park could be great if it weren't so damn scary, potholed, and infested with speed bumps. And Horseshoe Bay to West Vancouver is just too residential.

I guess building togue runs wasn't much of a priority of the Canadian government.

Back in Northern Cali, stuff like this was 10 minutes from my house:

(this is the upper part of Page Mill Road, BTW, which you run with your right hand on the handbrake and the shifter left in second gear, up *or* down)

Chukanut drive is nice, but if its nice, expect to see traffic. If you want to take a spirited drive during the day, you'll prob. get stuck behind a trailer or some other slow car. It's pretty enjoyable though. Last time we went down to Whidby Island, we took a little jaunt through Chukanut on our way back to HWY1.

LaterZ!

I did it on my Honda Interceptor a few years ago, but there was too much gravel and uneven pavement around the corners to make it really fun on a bike.
