Chevy Avalanche, truck or SUV?

I saw one of them on the cover of some magazine. For the life of me I couldn't figure out if I wanted to call it a truck or SUV. It has four doors, 4X4, and a truck bed. The only thing is the truck bed isn't the standard size. They made it shorter. Shorter then the average short bed. Anybody else seen it yet? If you have what do you think truck or SUV? It almost seemed practical. Now if they made it as a diesel then I would have to say truck.

That seems to be a more common design for newer trucks. I believe that the nissan frontier has a similar design.

Yep the frontier started the "shortbed" with 4 foward facing doors thing. The new Explorer has a version. I'd say they are a different category altogether.

If I had to choose I'd say it was a Pickup, with a really short bed. They used to make crew cabs with 4 doors facing forward. I think most of these are built on suv platforms with the rear windows cutout (ie: the bed sheet metal sides are attached to the sheetmetal of the body)
